1996
From Pelissa Family Winery (Napa Wine Company)
Current owners of the historical Brun & Chaix facility.
The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with layered aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum, and dried herbs, accented by subtle notes of cedar and tobacco from its time in French oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and richly textured, with flavors of dark cherry, cassis, and hints of mocha. Fine-grained tannins provide structure, while balanced acidity lends freshness and vibrancy. As the wine evolves in the glass, secondary notes of leather, graphite, and earth emerge, adding depth and complexity. The finish is long and persistent, marked by lingering notes of spice and dark fruit, making this a classic expression of Napa Valley Cabernet with remarkable aging potential.
